Raden Suprapto’s House

In the past, this house was the residence of one of the Revolutionary Heroes, Lieutenant General (Posthumously), Raden Suprapto, located on Jl. Besuki No. 19 Menteng, Central Jakarta. This house was built around the 1930s with an Indische-style architectural model and was once the residence of officials of private companies of the Netherlands and Europe. In the 1950s this house was managed by the Army Housing Agency and then Suprapto as one of the high ranking officers of the Army. One of Suprapto's neighbors at that time was Sutomo or better known as Bung Tomo, a figure in the independence revolution fighters from Surabaya, East Java.

This house was a silent witness of the kidnapping of Maj. Gen. Raden Suprapto, who at that time served as Deputy II Minister / Commander in Chief of Administration in the early hours of October 1, 1965 during the G30S / PKI rebellion. In this incident, a group of Tjakrabirawa forces managed to get into the house and take Suprapto to the Lubang Buaya area, East Jakarta and kill him viciously there ..

In the 1980s, veteran director Arifin C. Noer used this house as one of the locations for shooting the film "Pengkhianatan G30S / PKI" for the scene of the kidnapping of the character Raden Suprapto.
