A documentary writer from China among whose works mentioned  the existence of  Sin-to (Sunda)and its port. Chau Ju-kua was descended from EmperorTai-tsung, holding the office of head of trade affairs with foreign countries in  Tshuan-chou, a port city in Fu-kienprovince. His work, Chu-fan-chi or Concerning Far-off countries, was a collection of reports from Chinese  traders and sailors between1178 and1225. This was the first  Chinese document that mentioned the existence of  Sunda and its port. InChou Kufei, which he wrote in 1178 inKwangshi, he described  sho-poor the island of Java.
