BA-CHENG YI-CI, KLENTENG
A place of worship for Hakka people, Chinese Batavia ethnicity from Fujian, located at Jl. Jembatan Batu No. 49. Founded in 1865 at the initiative of several leading figures representing the Hakka community in Batavia. This communal temple is used to store the board slats of the names of people who have died (lin-wei), regardless of their clan. In 1878 the pagoda was moved, but remains to be a temple to the Hakka community. When the temple lost its religious aspects it remained to be a community center until now.
