A type of Betawi traditional dish. It is usually served to complement main dishes such as soto (soup), nasi uduk (steamed rice cooked in coconut milk) and others. Ingredients include cucumbers, carrots, shallots, Thai chilli, sugar, salt, and vinegar. Directions to make are as follows: cucumbers are deseeded and cut into pieces, as well as the carrots. Shallots are cut in half. Mix the cucumber with the carrots, shallots, Thai chilli, sugar, salt, and vinegar, mixing until even. Allow ± 30 minutes for flavors to soak.
